How yoga classes can benefit you

Many Ways Yoga classes commence with a brief introduction to the themes and inspiration for the class, followed by a soothing focus on breath awareness to allow you to feel settled and to help prepare the mind and body for practice. This is followed by a carefully designed sequences of physical postures (āsana) to warm up the body, mobilise the joints, build strength, flexibility and balance. Modifications are suggested to make the practice accessible for most common health conditions. The class concludes with a guided relaxation, to allow a release of tension and invite you into a safe place of complete rest.

Students are asked to bring their own mat and any props they like to use, particularly a folded blanket or cushion. I have some props available to borrow such as yoga bricks and straps. Chairs are provided for the Chair Yoga class.

Doors open 15 minutes before the class starts and we begin the class promptly at the stated time. Respecting the importance of your own preparation for practice and for the benefit of others in the class, I am unable to admit any students arriving once the class has begun, regardless of the reason or if you have let me know you are on your way. Please allow yourself time to arrive, check in and settle before we start.

Following the ethical traditions of yoga, through my practice and service as a yoga teacher I am committed to ensuring that my classes are welcoming, accessible and inclusive to all who wish to participate. My aim is that every individual feels valued and able to follow their own practice, to the level that suits them. I look forward to seeing you.
